Information on data protection and declaration of consent

This online sur­vey is respons­ibly con­duc­ted by Prof. Dr. Silke Steets, Friedrich-Alex­an­der-Uni­ver­sity Erlan­gen-Nurem­berg, Koch­straße 4, 91054 Erlan­gen and PD Dr. Silke Gülk­er, Uni­ver­sity of Leipzig, Beeth­oven­straße 15, 04107 Leipzig. The col­lec­tion and pro­cessing of data with­in the scope of this sur­vey fol­lows the leg­al data pro­tec­tion reg­u­la­tions of the Gen­er­al Data Pro­tec­tion Reg­u­la­tion of the European Uni­on (GDPR EU). Your data will be pro­cessed exclus­ively for artist­ic and sci­entif­ic pur­poses, but not for com­mer­cial pur­poses.

The web­site uses fonts provided by Adobe Typekit. No cook­ies are set, but a range of inform­a­tion (meta data) is trans­ferred to Adobe in an anonymised form. The con­tent of the entries col­lec­ted via the “Par­ti­cip­ate” sub­page is not for­war­ded to Adobe. Survey

Dur­ing the sur­vey, pho­tos are col­lec­ted and vari­ous inform­a­tion is gathered, such as your gender, your age or your idea of a bet­ter world. The col­lec­tion of both the pho­tos and the writ­ten inform­a­tion is designed in such a way that it does not allow the clear iden­ti­fic­a­tion of indi­vidu­als. Neither email nor IP addresses that could be used for iden­ti­fic­a­tion are stored. No cook­ies are set and no stat­ist­ics are pro­cessed. Pho­tos in which people are shown in a recog­niz­able way are not pub­lished. To ensure anonym­ity, all entries will be reviewed edit­or­i­ally and edited if neces­sary. Accord­ingly, only anonym­ized data is avail­able after the sur­vey is com­pleted. The pub­lic­a­tion of research res­ults on this homepage, on Ins­tagram, in real-world exhib­i­tions, in the form of pub­lic­a­tions or at con­fer­ences takes place exclus­ively in anonym­ized form and at no time allows con­clu­sions to be drawn about you as a per­son. There is no leg­al claim to pub­lic­a­tion of the sub­mit­ted inform­a­tion. We reserve the right not to pub­lish sub­mis­sions with insult­ing or dis­crim­in­at­ory con­tent.

Participant’s Rights

Par­ti­cip­a­tion in the sur­vey is com­pletely vol­un­tary. Dur­ing the sur­vey you are free to can­cel the sur­vey at any time. You will not suf­fer any dis­ad­vant­ages what­so­ever if you do not par­ti­cip­ate or if you can­cel your par­ti­cip­a­tion. Even after send­ing in your photo and data, you can object to the pub­lic­a­tion of your photo and data at any time. To do so, please send us an email to: datenschutz@utopian-worlds.org.

E‑mails with inform­a­tion about our pro­ject will only be sent with the expli­cit con­sent of the user. Users can object to receiv­ing the news­let­ter at any time. A pos­sib­il­ity to object can be found in every e‑mail. We have to log the regis­tra­tions to be able to prove a prop­er regis­tra­tion. For this pur­pose, we save the time of regis­tra­tion, the time of con­firm­a­tion and the IP address of the user. We do not pro­cess any stat­ist­ic­al ana­lys­is of the news­let­ter. All data (e.g. recipient’s e‑mail address) relat­ing to the send­ing of the news­let­ter are stored solely on our web­site. There is no pro­cessing or trans­fer to third parties.
