How does the shown object point to a better world?

This is a galaxy lamp, a light­bulb inside a globe, moul­ded and col­oured like the night sky. It makes me think of the future, of pos­sib­il­ity. Just like us, each little speck of light, on its own, is dim and does­n’t cre­ate much of an effect, but when we all shine togeth­er, we can cre­ate an entire galaxy of light.

This is how I imagine a better world:

A world without profit mar­gins, where people aren’t coerced into selling their life-time, their time to be alive, for someone else’s mater­i­al greed.

A world in which people con­trib­ute will­ingly to the flour­ish­ing of all humans, all cul­tures. And are appre­ci­ated for their con­tri­bu­tion.

A world without false-ness, fake news or mis­in­form­a­tion — because work­ing togeth­er for everyone’s bene­fit requires every­one to have the real know­ledge. Delib­er­ately mis­lead­ing people makes us all wander alone.

A world where oppor­tun­it­ies exist, without the col­lar of turn­ing a profit. The oppor­tun­ity to con­trib­ute in the best way you can, wheth­er in mind or body, in thought or strength. Or both, if you’re lucky to pos­sess both. Every­one has some­thing.

I think I would teach, in this new world. I would teach people about broad­en­ing their per­spect­ives, so that diversity of think­ing is pos­sible, just like diversity of being. I would teach, but I would also learn.
